District XC Meet!

Yesterday afternoon the girls ran in the Idaho District 3 5A Cross Country Meet. Great running conditions, a new route through Eagle Island St. Park, and LOTS of people cheering on the runners made it an exciting event to watch (not to mention that our two favorite runners were racing)! Madeleine's JV race was first...she PR'd once again with a time of 21:21, finishing 4th out of 143 runners and securing a spot on the team traveling to the State meet next weekend! Way to go Madeleine! In the Varsity race, Mackenzie also finished with an amazing new PR of 19:15 and placed 8th out of 76 runners! She is now ranked 14th in the state. Needless to say, I'm a proud momma and am so happy for the girls whose daily hard work, training and dedication is paying off. They have become competitive tough (but cute) little cookies! :) Here are some pics...

Max's Raingutter Regatta!

Last Thursday at Cub Scout Pack Meeting, Max raced the sailboat that he made with Grandpa Pat in his first "Raingutter Regatta!" It was so fun to watch him blow like there was no tomorrow!! He also got to conduct the flag ceremony which he had practiced for very hard. He did a great job! Here are a few pictures...

Max's Soccer Update

Max is having a great soccer season! He is playing more offense this year, so in addition to being a great defender, he's also getting to score some goals! His team is 5-1-1 and is working hard to prepare for the tournament in a couple of weeks. He is fun to watch because he has a great attitude and always plays his hardest! Go Max!!! Here are some pics of yesterday's game...

More XC...New PRs!!!

Yesterday brought another exciting afternoon of Cross Country racing and spectating for our family! The girls raced in the Gib Floyd Invite, both setting new PRs AGAIN!! Madeleine cut over a minute off her time (for the second time in a row) to finish at 21:36. Kenzie dropped her time by 15 seconds to finish at 19:29. Way to go, girls!!!

Sunfair Invitational XC Meet

We spent last Friday and Saturday traveling to Yakima, WA and watching Kenzie run in the Sunfair Invitational. Over 90 teams were competing. The high schools ran in 7 flights...all 7th place runners from each team ran against each other (boys & girls together!), then all 6th place runners from each team ran, and so on... It was fun to watch so many races and to be able to focus on the two runners from our school during each race. The course was beautiful, but included one very steep hill and two challenging inclines! Kenzie's strength and grit were inspiring as she raced up those hills! She ran with the 3rd-ranked runners and came in 8th out of 52 girls in her flight reaching a goal of hers to "finish in the 19s". Needless to say, she was very pleased, and her family was very proud! :)
